Laurel, Cherry Laurel is a large evergreen shrub which grows 3-6m tall but can be clipped to make hedge or screen and takes being cut back hard. The leaves are lush green if clipped and in good soil. If soil is poor leaves can turn yellow, mulch to feed, if required.
The flower buds appear early Spring and are followed by red changing to black cherry like fruits.
It is tolerant of overhanging trees and can be planted in shade.
Naturalised in the United kingdom.
