Fruit Trees

Bareroot Fruit Trees

Bareroot fruit trees are available over the winter between December and April.
This means that we dig them out of the ground, with no pot or soil, for you to take away and plant straight away. Purchasing and planting fruit trees in this way, instead of potted trees has many benefits, including the following:

- Cost and Choice: Bare-root trees are cheaper to buy than potted trees and there are more varieties to choose from, because they take up less space in the nursery, so we can provide a larger range.
- Ease of planting and aftercare: Because bare-root trees have no pot or soil, they are easier to carry, maneuver and plant. Also, during winter trees are generally less stressed beacuse their environment is cooler and damper, this aids the establishment of new roots. During winter less or no watering is needed, until tempreatures and day light increase. When you buy a potted tree spring-autumn, much more watering is needed to ensure the tree stays healthy.

The Fruit Trees below are the varieties available as bareroot, between November and March.
Our potted trees are available all year round and can be found on the Potted Trees page.
