'Sango-Kaku' is known for its coral-red bark all year round, providing fantastic contrast against its lime-green leaves and interest in winter when leaves have fallen. In autumn leaves turn a soft-yellow before falling. The bright coral-red bark looks striking against green tones and especially snow in winter! It will reach up to 4m tall by 2m wide. It requires a sheltered position, dappled by shade, in a moist but well-drained soil.
