This relatively rare, new variety of Fargesia jiuzhaigou called 'Deep Purple' has striking, deep-purple coloured stems when mature. It keeps its leaves all year round (does shed throughout the year but replaces with new leaves) providing an excellent screen or hedge. It can be planted alone as a feature plant, at the back of a border, to create height and structure all year round.
This is a clump-forming Bamboo so doesn't produce invasive runners.
