Laburnocytisus adamii is a fantastic tree as a result of an accident back in 1825 when a nurseryman in Paris accidentally cross-bred Purple Broom (Cytisus) and Laburnum, resulting in this Laburnocytisus. It is fairly rare so if chosen for a garden or space, it will surely be the talk of the town! It usually grows with a clear stem and produces growth at the top of the stem, that weeps, providing an attractive, semi-weeping tree. It bares pea-like, weeping flowers of pink (from the Purple Broom) and yellow (from Laburnum) that provide a fruit-salad sweet type range of colours. Flowers are fragrant and provide a fantastic display in spring. These trees love a spot in full sun, with a moist, but well-drained soil.
