The common Bay tree is commonly used in gardens as a large, attractive, evergreen shrub or to create shapes with topiary, by trimming to size and shape. They are hardy, evergreen shrubs with matte, dark-green leaves all year round. Clusters of creamy-white flowers form in spring, followed by black berries in autumn.
They can be susceptible to frost so do better in a sheltered position. They will grow in full sun or shade but protection from winds and frost will deter new leaf damage.

Don't forget to consider:
Tree and Shrub Compost to add a layer of good soil in the planting hole - buy here.
