The Sweet Gum is an absolute star of the show in autumn with its beautiful display of leaf colour change! 'Slender Silhouette' is an extremely narrow growing variety, ideal for screening or using as a feature tree to bring height and structure into a garden or space. Its leaves emerge late in spring and are a lush green incolour and deeply-lobed in shape. Late in autumn its leaves turn vivid purples, reds and oranges before falling, providing a fantastic display. Liquidambar hold onto their leaves significantly longer than many trees, providing interest even into winter. They like a full-sun position but will tolerate light shade.
