The Chinese Yellow Wood is an uncommon tree with rounded shape, becoming umbrella-like shaped as it matures. Each leaf has up to 10 leaflets similar to Ash leaves, providing fantastic dappled shade. In mid-summer it produced flower spikes up to 15cm long with lots of individual creamy-white, scented, pea-like flowers. These, once pollinated, form flat seed pods in autumn. A hardy tree but requires a bit of shelter.
