Royal Beauty proves worthy of its name when in mid spring it bursts into beautiful pink blossoms that smother its graceful, weeping branches. New leaf shoots are purple-bronze in colour and mature to a deep-plum , then to a yellow-bronze in autumn, before falling. Followed then in autumn by dark-purple crab apple fruits. Royal Beauty crab apples are not suitable for culinary use, but do make an excellent display in the winter. A variety of wildlife, particularly birds favour its berries during the winter. It will grow up to 3m in height by 3m in width so is ideal for small spaces and even planted in pots. It will tolerate most conditions, avoiding very wet.
