'Royalty' is a stunning variety with velvet-red flowers in spring and dark-purple, almost black leaves. In the autumn, the leaves turn a vivid red before falling, adding to this trees year round interest. It is a small growing variety that will grow up to 4m by 3m making it ideal for smaller gardens and spaces. The crab apples are not useable in the kitchen but the tree is beautiful throughout the year. The fruits are very popular with various wildlife and the flowers attract bees in the spring. As per most Malus, it will tolerate most conditions, avoiding very wet.
