Picea abies (The Norway Spruce) are a popular choice for Christmas trees and can be planted in the garden or a pot to use for such an occasion but don't forget they are a huge tree, growing up to 40m so don't plant in the garden unless you have the space for them. They're a hardy, evergeen conifer with typical cones in autumn. Needle are lush-green and stay all year round. They have a pyramidal habit with large, slightly hanging branches.
