Description
Pinus sylvestris (Scots Pine) is one of only three Native conifers and our only Native Pine, so it really is special! They can live for up to 700 years, reach a height of 35m and they're evergreen too. For a conifer it is fast-growing so take care when choosing its planting position. Its needles have a blue tint to them and are slightly twisted. It bares clusters of yellow flowers that are followed by the well-known pine cones. It will tolerate most soils and conditions avoiding very wet and coastal.
