The Bird Cherry is a Native tree and provide a stunning display in late spring with masses of white flowers that smell like almonds! In autumn clusters of glossy-black berries appear that only birds will eat (and they really love them) making it a vital lifeline in winter. It can be grown as part of a mixed, native hedge or as a singular tree. The Bird Cherry is a hardy, robust tree will year round interest and important for wildlife. Berries are favoured by blackbirds, song thrushes, badgers and mice. They can grow up to 15m in height by 3m wide. It will grow in most conditions but doesn'y like a dry, sandy soil.
