A Cherry tree with a rounded crown with clusters of small, single, bowl-shaped white flowers in May. Leaves are unusual for a Cherry and more like that of a Willow, with long, narrow, serrated, dark-green leaves throughout spring and summer, turning shades of orange, red and yellow in autumn. Its trunk bark has stunning, glossy, copper-brown, shiny bark that looks polished as the old bark peels off. The bark provides interest all year round, especially in winter. It will grow up to 8m in height by 4m in width.p to 5m in height, by 3m wide. Will tolerate most conditions apart from very wet or shallow, chalky soil.
