Vital to our English countryside, the Common English Oak is a great, majestic tree with great importance to our wildlife and pollution control. Dark-green leaves turn shades of bronze and reddish brown in autumn, among the well recognised golden, brown Acorns. Oaks often have gnarled bark and stems, making them distinctively recognisable in winter. It will grow between 20m and 40m and grow to 10m in height within the first 20 years. They support more wildlife with what they have to offer, than any other tree! Will tolerate most conditions, avoiding very wet.
