Our very own, native Rowan, also known as Mountain Ash, but is not Ash at all, it is a Sorbus. It is a small, compact tree absolutely fantastic for our wildlife. Attractive, blue-green, pinnate foliage throughout spring and summer, amongst creamy-white flowers, in clusters, in spring. A vital source of pollen for pollinators early in the season. Rich, orange-red berries hang in bundles in the autumn and birds will devour them.  It will grow up to 6m in height by 4m in width. Its ability to thrive almost anywhere, makes it a fantastic tree for polluted or exposed sites.
