The large or broad leaved Lime is the rarest of our Limes, Native, large and a handsome tree. Unlike the small-leaved Lime, this large-leaved Lime does not produce sucker growth from the base, making it a more attractive specimen for avenue and park planting. It has lush, green heart-shaped leaves and green-yellow flowers in clusters in spring. In autumn pollinated flowers turn to small, oval fruits.
