Acer palmatum dissectum 'Garnet' is a fantastic variety of Acer forming a domed shape. This variety has been grown on a 1.3m high, clear stem, making it an attractive little tree, ideal for providing height and interest in the borders or in pots. It will reach up to 2m tall x 1.5m wide. It bares feathery purple-red leaves throughout spring and summer before turning bright-red in autumn, before falling.

Japanese Maples typically prefer a dappled shade spot, with some shelter from winds. Planting in a full sun position will result in scorching of the leaves which looks unattractive and can cause die back on the stems.

Don't forget to consider:
Ericaceous Compost to add a layer of good soil in the planting hole - buy here.
Mycorrhizal fungi to encourage strong, new roots - buy here.
