Cercis 'Forest Pansy' is a fantastic small tree with purple-red, heart-shaped foliage throughout spring and summer, changing to hues of orange and yellow in autumn, before the leaves fall. They will reach up to 8m in height and spread but can be kept a little smaller with pruning. Cercis do love a fertile soil so make sure you plant with organic matter if your soil isn't so fertile.
