Olive trees are a plant from the Mediterranean, they love a hot position, full sun and will thrive in a sheltered spot against a wall or fence ideally. They can be planted in the ground or kept in pots. Feed with a MP feed or higher nitrogen feed to keep lush leaves coming. Olives have silver-grey-green leaves providing an attractive all year round feature. They flower in the spring and thrn Olive fruits form throughout the summer. It is unlikely that the Olives will reach an edible stage, in this country, but in more southern sites, in sheltered, full sun positions it is possible. Plant in a soil-based compost as they require good drainage.
