Parrotia 'Vanessa' is a superb variety of Persian Ironwood with a more upright habit than the standard Parrotia persica with eually as stunning autumnal display of foliage colours of reds and oranges. Leaves emerge bronze and burgundy, maturing to green before turning again in the autumn.
In winter, small spider-like, red flowers (similar to Witch Hazel) are bourne on bare stems making it an absolute delight in winter too.
