This North American Red Oak is a fantastic choice for a feature tree in a large garden or open space. Its leaves are larger than that of our common Oak and more pointed rather than rounded. Its leaves are green in spring and summer, turning fantastic shades of red in autumn, before falling. It has insignificant flowers in spring and bares acorns in autumn that take 2 years to ripen. It requires plenty of space and light to look its best.
